Proctor's Stead Caravan & Camping Park
Nestled in the Village of Dunston in Alnwick, Northumberland, is Proctor's Stead Caravan & Camping Park who have a range of accommodation options for families and couples wishing to go on holiday in the country. From caravan and camping pitches to holiday cottages, we have something for everyone! We are located in an ideal place to benefit from what the local area has to offer - we are near Craster, Alnwick & Bamburgh on the beautiful Northumberland Coast and near some attractions such as: great nature walks, numerous castles like Dunstanburgh Castle, Alnwick Castle & Alnwick Garden, and some stunningly beautiful coastlines.
Our small family run caravan and camping park is situated only one mile away from the sea and has picturesque views of outstanding natural beauty. The park itself is a level, sheltered, well-kept green park which has the capacity to cater up to 60 caravans and tents. We have many well kept facilities on-site too to make your stay just perfect, including: spotless showers, toilets and washbasins with hot water which are cleaned at least twice a day; power points for shavers & hairdryers, dishwashing area, and we also have a coin-operated washing machine and a separate tumble dryer. For campers, we have electric hook-ups available too (10 amps).
Dogs are more than welcome on site as well! However we must mention they must be kept on leads when on site and are not allowed to roam free. There is no designated dog walk area, but having said that there are numerous walks and footpaths close to the park for them to enjoy. Owners are asked to be responsible and clean up after them when in and around the caravan park and the village. Some local places like The Cottage Inn and The Jolly Fisherman both allow dogs into the bar areas.
During the day, we have milk, eggs, cream and fresh orange available to keep you going during the day, as the nearest shop is in Embleton about two miles away. Craster is famous for its delcious kippers and has a wonderful seasonal seafood restaurant, as well as a pub which overlooks the sea. For those who do not wish to cook, The Cottage Inn is only a short stroll away and has a wonderful menu that I'm sure will satifiy any taste. The Craster Restaurant (Robsons) is always worth a visit for its renowned fish and seafood dishes and The Jolly Fisherman in Craster too.
If camping and caravanning isn't your thing then you can always stay in one of our spacious holiday cottages which is set on the glorious Northumbrian coastline, just a mile from Craster and the sea. Both cottages are tastefully decorated and are maintained to high standards. As an added bonus they both have FREE WiFi too! They are called Dunstanburgh View and Seascape; Dunstanburgh View is for guests up to 4 people and the Seascape cottage has space available for 6 guests. Unfortunately we are unable to accommodate pets in either cottage.
